Srinagar, Jan. 10 -- Indian Army's Northern Command chief, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, on Saturday underscored the need for a robust intelligence grid and enhanced synergy among security agencies, stressing that strong coordination is vital for an effective and timely response to any emerging threat in the region.
Lt Gen Sharma said this during his visit to forward formations and units deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland areas of north Kashmir to review the prevailing security situation.
Army said during the visit, officers on the ground briefed the Army Commander about the counter-infiltration grid, operational preparedness and security measures undertaken in the hinterland to dominate the operational space.
