Lucknow, Feb. 16 -- The issue of alleged arbitrary behavior by private hospitals was raised strongly during the budget discussion in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly during question hours on Monday.

Samajwadi Party (SP) member Atul Pradhan questioned the government about what concrete steps were being taken to control private hospitals and what action had been taken on complaints of arbitrary fees being charged from patients.

"There are no medicines in the government hospital, there are no doctors, somewhere the stretcher looks broken, somewhere the dog is seen lying on the bed.
