Vijayawada, April 10 -- The Opposition YSR Congress party on Friday submitted a complaint to the National Human Rights Commission in New Delhi seeking urgent intervention against what it termed were defamatory and derogatory broadcasts on Telugu news channel ABN Andhra Jyothi during the programme titled "Weekend Comment by RK" on April 4.
The party's Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy in the complaint alleged that the telecast contained abusive, humiliating and degrading remarks targeting former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP supporters, going far beyond the limits of legitimate political criticism and directly infringing upon the dignity and reputation of individuals and groups.
