Vijayawada, Dec. 25 -- Telugu Desam Party (TDP) state president Palla Srinivasa Rao on Thursday came down heavily on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), warning that the alleged public display of lethal weapons poses a grave threat to democratic order and public safety.
Describing such acts as unlawful and deeply disturbing, he said cases must be booked under the Arms Act against those involved and urged the authorities to initiate immediate legal action without hesitation.
Srinivasa Rao was reacting to reports of YSRCP supporters allegedly taking out processions wielding sharp weapons, including hunting sickles, on the occasion of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's birthday.
