Kakinada, June 20 -- The importance of the Revenue department in administration was stressed by several speakers at a meeting held under the auspices of Adabala Trust here on Friday to mark the celebration of Revenue day.
The speakers including retired Tahasildar Relangi Bapiraju, Buddharaju Satyanarayanaraju, Nimmakayala Venkateswararao and Dr Vedula Sirisha recalled that the Revenue department was the legacy of the British regime but was playing a vital role even in parliamentary democracy.
The Revenue Board was constituted on June 20,1786, and as such Revenue day was celebrated on every June 20.
