Kakinada, Feb. 28 -- At least 21 workers were suspected killed, of whom 12 were charred alive, and 16 others were being treated in hospitals at Peddapuram and Kakinada GGH, following an explosion at Surya Sri Fireworks, located amid lushy paddy fields in Vetlapalem village of Samalkot mandal 25 kms from here on Saturday afternoon.
The explosion triggered a series of blasts with thundering sounds, leaving no room for the workers to come out. It is stated that at the time of explosion 30 people were working while 10 others left few minutes before for lunch break, police said here.
