Guntur, Sept. 27 -- The Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) has banned the sale of Pani Puri from roadside eateries in the city as part of intensified efforts to check the spread of diarrhoea.
Municipal Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu issued the orders, targeting street vendors serving the popular snack without proper hygienic conditions.
The ban follows an outbreak of diarrhoea identified in several areas, including Pragati Nagar, Ramireddy Thota, Redla Bazar, and Sangadigunta.
Officials suspect that polluted water is the main cause of the outbreak.
