Vijayawada, April 1 -- Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy termed Amaravati as the "capital of corruption" with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu "engineering unprecedented and impractical policies to enrich himself and his coterie" and putting the future of the State at stake.
Speaking to the media, after the Lok Sabha passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seeks to amend the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, and formally accord Amaravati the status of the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned where the Chief Minister would get Rs 2 lakh crore money to build the capital and how long it would take to complete the construction of Amaravati.
