Vijayawada, April 24 -- Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday declared that Bapatla, Konaseema and West Godavari districts are malaria-free districts and information in this regard is being conveyed to the Central government to announce it officially.
Stating that many steps have been taken to mitigate malaria in the State, the Health Minister said that malaria cases have started reducing in various districts.
He informed that 7,871 malaria cases were registered in 2024-25 and 7,199 in 2025-26 in the State. "During the current year, 899 malaria cases have been registered from January to till now. Last year, during the same time, 1,783 malaria cases were registered," the Minister revealed.
