Tenali, Jan. 13 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar has said that 41.27 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers so far.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the government had purchased over 41.27,000 metric tonnes of paddy from 6,76,848 farmers. The government has set a target of 50 lakh metric tonnes of paddy to be purchased from the farmers during the kharif season, he revealed.

"The government has credited Rs 9,789 crore into the bank accounts of farmers for their paddy. The government will disburse more than Rs 10,000 crore to the farmers for their paddy produce for the first time in the State. The paddy purchase process will come to an end in the State s...
