Vijayawada, March 4 -- The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has taken a significant initiative to encourage and promote tourism by launching the 'Driver cum Guide' programme, for the first time in the country.
In a significant move to elevate Andhra Pradesh's tourism sector to international standards, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has partnered with ride-hailing platform Rapido to introduce the country's first-ever "Driver-cum-Guide" system.
The tourism officials here on Wednesday said that under this innovative initiative, auto and cab drivers with high ratings on the Rapido platform would be selected and trained to serve not only as drivers but also as certified tourist guides. The programme is...
