Nellore, April 1 -- Hailing the passage of the bill by the Lok Sabha officially recognising Amaravati as the sole and permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said it was a matter of great pride for the state.

Addressing a public meeting during the 'Pedala Sevalo' programme at Vinjamur village in Nellore district, the Chief Minister observed that Amaravati symbolizes the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
