Ahilyanagar, April 7 -- In a significant development in a high-profile financial fraud case, a local court has rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by Kalpana Kharat, the absconding wife of accused self-styled godman Ashok Kharat.

The court observed that her role in the transactions appears prima facie serious. It further noted that her signatures on key documents and her involvement in the dealings cannot be overlooked. Based on these observations, the court refused to grant her interim protection from arrest.

The case is expected to expose a broader pattern of illegal moneylending practices, dubious land transactions, and misuse of legal documents in rural areas.
