Lucknow, April 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh government's campaign to make the state Tuberculosis free by the end of 2025 is yielding results as so far, 8,563 gram panchayats in the state have become TB free, official sources said here on Tuesday.
Sources said that the grassroots-level achievement marks a major milestone in the fight against tuberculosis, especially in rural areas where awareness and access to healthcare have traditionally been challenging. "Notably, 435 of these panchayats have retained their TB-free status for the second consecutive year," they said.
