Shillong, Dec. 4 -- Six sniffer dogs have been inducted into the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Meghalaya Police to fight against drug trafficking and abuse in the State. This initiative has been undertaken under the guidance of the Drug Reduction, Elimination & Action Mission (DREAM) Director Francis Kharshiing, whose decades of policing experience have shaped the selection and deployment strategy.

The three Belgian Malinois and three Cocker Spaniels will assist the ANTF squad in identifying and locating illegal drugs such as heroin, cannabis, Methamphetamine, and other banned substances, Giri Prasad, the ANTF chief, said.
