Chandigarh, July 21 -- Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij today announced that the Bhagavad Gita will be incorporated into the curriculum of all schools across the state. The decision has triggered a political storm, with Vij also launching sharp critiques against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge over separate issues.
Vij emphasized the historical significance of Haryana, stating, "This is the land where Lord Krishna delivered the Gita's wisdom to Arjuna. It is crucial for our children to learn these teachings, which are a part of our culture, religion, and ideology. The Gita should be taught in every school in India, with special focus in Haryana."
