Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 6 -- The Ministry of Railways has stepped up follow-up with the Government of Kerala on land acquisition for the long-pending Angamali-Sabarimala new railway line project, with the State having now initiated acquisition proceedings, paving the way for further progress.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Tirur railway station in Kerala is currently served by 90 train services, including the Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express (20631/20632), providing direct rail connectivity to major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
