Amaravati, March 1 -- Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a strategic hub for rare earths and titanium-based minerals, aiming to reduce India's dependence on China and capture a growing global market.

Accorddng to the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC), the state holds the second-largest beach sand mineral reserves in India, accounting for nearly 25 percent of the country's resources, with high concentrations of ilmenite, rutile, zircon, and monazite-the latter a key source of rare earth elements (REEs).
