Hamirpur, Jan. 11 -- The efforts of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to increase farmers' income and strengthen the rural economy by promoting agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and other related activities are yielding good results at the ground level. A glimpse of this can be seen in Kotlu village of Patta area in Bhoranj sub-division.

Taking advantage of the various schemes and facilities launched by the state government to strengthen the rural economy, retired soldier Virendra Singh of Kotlu village is now selling vegetables worth Rs. 4 to 5 lakhs every season, and he has now also started venturing into mushroom production, poultry, and animal husbandry.
