Chandigarh, Oct. 15 -- In a major intelligence-driven operation, Amritsar Commissionerate police have uncovered an international organised gang involved in arms and drug smuggling with links to Pakistan.
Three suspects were arrested during the operation, and authorities seized 10 sophisticated pistols along with 500 grams of opium.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested individuals are part of a cross-district smuggling network and maintain direct contact with handlers based in Pakistan.
The recovered weapons were reportedly intended for distribution among gangsters and criminals active in Punjab to facilitate illegal activities across the state.
