Chandigarh, Feb. 7 -- In a significant boost to the "War on Gangsters" campaign initiated by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Amritsar City Police has executed a massive enforcement drive resulting in the arrest of 269 individuals. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar announced on Friday that the intelligence-led operation, which spanned from January 20 to February 6, 2026, was specifically designed to dismantle gangster networks and curb organised criminal activities within the city.
