Kolkata, Jan. 31 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a sharp attack on what he described as unchecked infiltration into West Bengal, linking the issue to questions of nationalism, border security, and the Trinamool Congress's opposition to Vande Mataram.

"The problem of infiltration in Bengal is no longer confined to the state but has become a threat to the entire country," the Home Minister said at a BJP rally in Barrackpore. He accused the Mamata Banerjee-led government of deliberately encouraging infiltration for electoral gains.
