New Delhi/Raipur, April 3 -- The Chhattisgarh High Court has convicted Amit Jogi, a former MLA (2013-2018) and son of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, in connection with the Ram Avtar Jaggi murder case.

The court pronounced its order on April 2.

The case dates back to the year 2003 and pertains to the killing of businessman-turned-politician Ram Avtar Jaggi in Raipur, at a time when Ajit Jogi was the sitting Chief Minister of the state.

In 2007, a special CBI court had convicted 28 people in the case. However, Amit Jogi was acquitted at that time, having been given the benefit of the doubt.
