Chennai, Aug. 25 -- Amid alarming rise in stray dog biting incidents across theState in the recent past and the matter entering the courts, the Tamil Nadu AnimalWelfare Board (TNAWB) today directed all pet shops in the state to register withit by September 30, 2025, failing wich legal action would be taken from October one.
The TNAWB in a release here said all pet shops operating in Tamil Nadu must registerwith it as per the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's notificationGSR 844(E) dated September 6, 2018 under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(Pet Shop) Rules, 2018.
