Agartala, Feb. 4 -- Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday initiated an eviction drive to clear encroachments across various parts of the city.
The operation, which began in the early hours today, covered areas from Battala to the Post Office, Hariganga Basak Road, and Shakuntala Road, resulting in the demolition of allegedly illegally set up footpaths and roadside shops.
The eviction has caused distress among many small traders, some of whom had valid vending licenses but still had their stalls demolished by the municipal authorities.
