Bengaluru, Jan. 14 -- Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, through its joint venture with Indian Railways, Madhepura Electric Locomotive Private Limited (MELPL), has secured a five-year contract to provide maintenance services for 300 WAG-12B electric locomotives at Indian Railways' Sabarmati depot.
Valued at €62 million, the contract covers the remaining locomotives from the original 800-unit order awarded to Alstom in 2015. The comprehensive maintenance activities will include scheduled and unscheduled servicing, material supply, locomotive washing, logistics, and remote diagnostics to ensure maximum availability and reliability until February 2031.
