Shimla, Jan. 17 -- Shimla district police registered three separate cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on Friday, leading to the seizure of heroin (chitta) and the arrest of nine accused, including a duo from Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Sr Superintendent of Police Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi stated that investigations are underway in all the cases to identify backward and forward linkages in the drug network.
In the first and most significant case, FIR No. 05/26 was registered at Dhalli police station under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Police recovered 50.340 grams of chitta, which falls under the commercial quantity category.
