Allahabad HC gives interim relief to Sambhal violence accused

Prayagraj, Jan. 27 -- Allahabad High Court on Tuesday granted conditional anticipatory bail to the accused in the Sambhal violence.

The single bench judge, Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha, while hearing an anticipatory bail application by father of accused Mohammad Alam, granted relief from arrest until February 25 next.

The Sambhal CJM court recently ordered the registration of an FIR against several police officers, including the then CO/ASP Anuj Chaudhary for firing at the petitioner Mohammad Alam during the violence on November 24, 2024.

The petitioner's lawyer argued in court that the petitioner is innocent and fears that he may be arrested in the aforementioned case.
