Patna, March 16 -- All five National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates, including Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and BJP national president Nitin Nabin won the Rajya Sabha election from the eastern state on Monday.
Besides Kumar and Nabin, Ramnath Thakur of JDU, Uperdra Kushwaha of RLM and Sivesh Ran of BJP won the biennial elections to the Upper House.
The outgoing Rajya Sabha MP of RJD, Amrendra Dhari Singh, who had contested as a Grand Alliance candidate, was defeated.
Of the total 243 MLAs in the state, 239 legislators exercised their franchise during the day.
