Los Angeles, Feb. 9 -- The aquatic horror phenomenon "Under Paris" is poised for a high-stakes return, with celebrated genre filmmaker Alexandre Aja attached to direct the sequel.
The original film, released in France as "Sous la Seine", was directed by Xavier Gens and emerged as a surprise global success, winning audiences over with its audacious premise and gleefully excessive thrills.
Under Paris starred Berenice Bejo as a marine researcher who must overcome her traumatic past in order to save Paris from a mutant shark (and her offspring) that can live in fresh water and is now terrorizing the city. Especially the citizens taking part in a triathlon that the mayor has refused to cancel.
