New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- The Delhi Police Crime Branch has taken Chairman of the controversial Al-Falah University, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui into custody, in connection with alleged fraud and financial misconduct.
Following his arrest, Siddiqui was produced before a Delhi Court, which granted police four days of custody remand for further interrogation. The action was initiated following formal complaints lodged by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Police officials have stated that the Crime Branch registered two separate FIRs against Siddiqui based on complaints from the UGC, citing allegations of falsification and financial irregularities.
