Akola, April 27 -- Vidarbha continues to reel under intense heat, with Akola recording a scorching 46.9 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature in the district so far this year.
Akola, often counted among the hottest cities in Maharashtra, has seen a sharp rise in temperatures since mid-April, with daytime heat forcing people indoors and leaving streets largely deserted. Reports of heatstroke, including one fatality, have emerged amid the severe conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heatwave conditions are likely to persist, particularly around April 27 and urged residents to take precautions.
