Mumbai, Jan. 28 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed deep grief over the tragic demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on Wednesday, calling it shocking, unbelievable, and an irreparable loss to Maharashtra. He announced a government holiday and three days of state mourning.
"Leaders like Ajit Pawar are not built overnight; it takes decades. At a time when he was making an immensely important contribution to Maharashtra's development, his untimely departure is deeply distressing. For me personally, I have lost a strong, large-hearted friend," the Chief Minister said.
