Mumbai, Jan. 30 -- The iniquiry into the tragic death of Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra in a plane crash on January 28, in Baramati district of Maharashtra has been handed over to the State CID. The case was initially handled by the Pune rural police. According to officials, the government has asked the Pune rural police to hand over the case and its details gathered so far to the state CID.
Pune rural police had registered a case of accidental death under section 194 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on the accident.
The state CID, which has already begun its investigation, will examine security lapses and infrastructure issues at Baramati airfield, officials added.
