Hyderabad, Jan. 29 -- : Airbus has outlined an ambitious expansion of its aerospace manufacturing and training ecosystem in India, signaling a transition from component production to full aircraft assembly as part of its long-term commitment to the country.

Highlighting India's growing role in global aerospace supply chains, Mr Jurgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia at Wings india Summit here on Thursday said the doors of its highly modern A220 aircraft are now being manufactured in India.

These complex components involve more than 7,100 individual parts, which the Indian ecosystem industrialized in record time while meeting stringent quality standards, he said.
