Hyderabad, Jan. 29 -- Air India on Thursday announced it has placed an order for 30 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, reinforcing its single-aisle growth strategy as India's domestic and regional air travel demand continues to surge.
The latest deal includes 20 Boeing 737-8s and 10 larger 737-10s, expanding the airline's total Boeing backlog to nearly 200 aircraft across narrowbody and widebody programmes, the airlines said at the Wings India summit here.
Boeing confirmed the 737-8 purchase was finalized this month, while the 737-10 order had previously been listed as unidentified on the manufacturer's Orders & Deliveries website.
