Srinagar, April 25 -- A day after a Delhi court rejected jailed Lok Sabha MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh's interim bail plea to meet his ailing father, his party Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) expressed hope over his regular bail plea listed for hearing in the Delhi High Court on April 27, saying justice must reflect both fairness and compassion.
Sheikh, who is popularly known as Engineer Rashid, has been in Tihar jail in a terror -funding case, registered under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, four days before the nullification of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
AIP on Saturday convened an emergency meeting of its Executive Council immediately after the dismissal of interim bail to Rashid by the NIA Patiala House Court.
