New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- Doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on Friday demonstrated a technology that allows them to perform ultrasound scans on patients located thousands of kilometres away, even in extreme environments such as Antarctica.
The system, developed jointly with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, enables doctors to conduct real-time scans remotely using a robotic arm and was showcased during the institute's Research Day celebrations.
The technology has already been deployed at India's Antarctic research station, Maitri, according to an institutional statement.
