Visakhapatnam, Feb. 3 -- Demonstrating the growing role of artificial intelligence in public safety, the AI-enabled Rail Robocop "ASC Arjun" successfully identified and facilitated the apprehension of two habitual offenders at Visakhapatnam Railway Station, marking a significant milestone in technology-driven railway security, an official release stated on Tuesday.

On the night of February 2, ASC Arjun, equipped with an advanced Facial Recognition System (FRS), detected a suspect by instantly matching his facial image against a pre-loaded criminal database.

The AI system generated a real-time alert, which was automatically transmitted to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) CCTV Control Room at Visakhapatnam.
