Ch. Sambhajinagar, Nov. 6 -- The state Agriculture department of Maharashtra has issued an official clarification regarding a six-rupee credit transferred to a farmer's bank account, explaining that the amount represented interest payment rather than government compensation for crop damages.
District Superintendent of Agriculture Officer P. R. Deshmukh from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar clarified today that the amount was neither part of the crop insurance disbursement nor issued under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, but rather a system-generated interest credit.
