Siliguri, April 13 -- The political temperature in North Bengal is set to rise further on Tuesday with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee likely to counter issues raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while canvassing for BJP candidates.

On April 12, Modi addressed a massive election rally at Kawakhali ground here, combining promises of development for North Bengal with sharp attacks on the ruling Trinamool during his speech.

After a day's hiatus, Banerjee is scheduled to hold election meetings on April 14 beginning at Maynaguri in Jalpaiguri district. She is expected to cover more venues later in the day.
