Jammu, Jan. 3 -- : Bringing the long-pending accountability to sports associations across the union Territory (UT), in a first, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council-under the umbrella of Jammu and Kashmir Government - has initiated the strict implementation of the National Sports Development Code of India, 2011 in a decisive move aimed at reforming sports governance and safeguarding the interests of sportspersons across the Jammu and Kashmir.
The move comes a day after a judicial scrutiny in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by former State badminton players seeking enforcement of age and tenure norms under the Sports Code.
