Aizawl, Jan. 15 -- Mizoram appears to have finally turned the corner on the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak that ravaged the state through much of 2025, with animal husbandry and veterinary department officials confirming that no pig deaths have been reported since early December.

Officials said the last ASF-related casualty was recorded on December 8, when a single pig died at Ainawn locality in Aizawl. The infection did not spread further, even within the neighbourhood, and no fresh cases have been detected since December 9.
