Chennai, Feb. 23 -- Asserting that the Advocates Amendment Bill 2025 was a direct assault on the autonomy of the legal fraternirty, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin on Sunday demanded its withdrawal.

In a social media post, he accused the BJP government at the Centre of systematically undermining the independence of the judiciary since 2014 and appealed to it to withdraw it by respecting the autonomy of the legal profession.
