Kolkata, March 22 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Assembly election campaign, originally slated to begin from Tuesday, was pushed back by a day because of adverse weather conditions.
With the chief minister having a tight schedule in March and April, the delay, according to party insiders, is considered to be an early setback ahead of the 2026 polls.
Earlier it was announced that Banerjee was scheduled to begin her campaign on March 24 from Alipurduar, with public rallies planned in Maynaguri and Matigara on the same day.
However, district administration sources confirmed that all scheduled events for the day have been postponed due to unfavourable weather.
