Accused who sent threat message to actor Salman Khan mentally unstable, say police

Mumbai, April 15 -- Accused who sent an alleged threat message to Bollywood star Salman Khan is mentally unstable, police said here on Tuesday.

Soon after the threat message was sent, police detained a 26-year-old man, identified as Mayank Pandya, from Vadodara in Gujarat, for allegedly sending a death threat to Khan via a WhatsApp message.

Officials further said that the man is mentally unstable and is under treatment while police are probing the matter from different angles.

Sources further said that Pandya had sent a threatening message to the Mumbai Traffic Police's WhatsApp helpline, stating, "We will enter your house and kill you," and also threatened to plant a bomb in Salman Khan's car.
