Jamshedpur, Oct. 28 -- An exchange of fire took place between police and a wanted criminal, identified as Gopal, in the Sidgora area of Jamshedpur.
Gopal, who had allegedly opened fire outside the residence of Hare Ram Singh in the Sitaramdera police station area recently, was injured during the encounter.
According to police sources, specific information was received that the accused was hiding in Sidgora.
Acting on the tip-off, a special police team launched a late last night raid to apprehend him. Upon seeing the police, Gopal reportedly opened fire in an attempt to flee.
