Thiruvananthapuram, July 24 -- An amount of Rs 831 crore has been sanctioned for the disbursement of welfare pensions for the month of July, benefiting 62 lakh families, Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced today.
"Each of the approximately 62 lakh beneficiaries will receive Rs 1,600. Of these, over 26 lakh beneficiaries will have the pension amount directly credited to their bank accounts," the Minister said.
The remaining beneficiaries will receive their pension through home delivery by cooperative banks. The distribution of pensions will begin on July 25.
For 8.46 lakh beneficiaries under the National Pension Scheme, the central share is to be provided by the Central Government. The state has already sanctioned Rs 24.31 cror...
