Chandigarh, Feb. 9 -- High drama unfolded in Chandigarh on Monday as leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clashed with the police during a protest against senior Congress leaders Partap Singh Bajwa and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. The protest was triggered by allegedly derogatory and casteist remarks made by the Congress duo against Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO.
The police had to deploy water cannons and heavy barricades outside the MLA Hostel to prevent the agitated AAP protesters from marching forward. AAP workers, in a symbolic move, brought musical bands to the protest site to counter Bajwa's remarks, where he allegedly mocked the Minister's ancestral profession.
