New Delhi, April 27 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday expressed support for party convenor Arvind Kejriwal's decision to abstain from court proceedings before Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma in connection with the excise policy case, describing the move as a form of protest inspired by Gandhian principles.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said Kejriwal would not present arguments or submissions in the matter and would instead allow the court to proceed independently. He raised concerns about the possibility of a fair hearing, citing alleged past remarks and associations of Justice Sharma, as well as previous rulings in the excise policy case that were later overturned by the Supreme Court.
